What to Expect from a Family Photo Session
Family photo sessions are one of my favorite things to capture—those sweet sibling giggles, the way your toddler squeezes your hand, the glance between parents that says “we made this.” But let’s be real: photo day can come with a little bit of pressure, especially when little ones are involved.
The good news? I’ve got a plan—and it’s built around your family.
We Keep It Short & Sweet (Because Kids are the Real Bosses)
Here’s the honest truth: most kids have about 25 good minutes in them for photos. And that’s totally normal! That’s why I come to each session with a thoughtful photo list and a flexible plan. We make the most of those golden minutes by capturing a variety of combinations while everyone’s still engaged and having fun.
What We’ll Capture
During our time together, we’ll work through:
- Sibling group shots
- Each child individually
- Kids with each parent
- Whole family together
- Couple shots (yes, parents—you deserve a few frame-worthy moments too!)
It’s amazing what we can get in a short window when we’re intentional and relaxed.
How I Keep It Fun
I’m not just snapping photos—I’m giving prompts, asking silly questions, cracking jokes, and turning the session into more of an experience than a chore. Think movement, laughter, and connection, not stiff poses and forced smiles. Kids (and grownups!) respond so much better when we keep things playful and relaxed.
And When Things Don’t Go As Planned… That’s Okay Too
Sometimes, little ones need a bit more time—and that’s completely okay. We take breaks when we need to, reset with a snack or a cuddle, and go at a pace that works for your family. No stress, no pressure—just capturing your crew as they really are.
The Bottom Line
Family photo sessions don’t have to be stressful. With a bit of planning, a little flexibility, and a lot of fun, we’ll capture the real, beautiful moments that make your family yours. You bring the love, I’ll bring the camera—and together, we’ll make some magic.
